My Story: -

On 27.05.2015 I attended an Intuitive Art Workshop in Godshill on the Isle of Wight. This was a three-hour workshop and began with an introduction to Intuitive Art and a Dragon Meditation. Using fingers, canvas and oil paint we began creating our piece. We stopped periodically to step back and look at each other’s creations and was amazed at the colours and images that began to appear in our paintings and what these images meant to us.

“Peyote”

by L J West née Powell 27.05.2015

I called my painting Peyote because the bird images that kept appearing in my painting reminded me of an image from my American Indian Life Path Cards.

Peyote means new abilities and that

Developing these abilities will enhance growth. By working through fear and limiting beliefs I could discover these new abilities and that all goals were possible.

These were just a few of the images which came through in my painting. I could also see an image of a women who looked like she was giving reiki healing to a child. A bird carrying an egg within its wings. A woman stretching up to the sun and many others. What I also love about the paintings is that people see different images and different messages.

My story continued: -

My worry after this was whether I would be able to do this again and it took me a few tries until I found a technique that works for me.

My technique: -

I am a Reiki Master - Reiki is a healing technique which is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch or hands above the body. This energy activates the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restores physical and emotional well-being.

I open my reiki and use this to connect to my creativity, my higher self, my guardian angels and spirit guides, universal light and elemental spirits. I ask the reiki energy to connect with all these beings and to bring healing energy and messages from them through my paintings. This technique works for me and is based on my beliefs. I believe that intuitive art can be created using a technique which works for you and is not fixed in stone.

Some of my paintings have come from self-meditations or even thoughts or images I have received but I still approach the painting in the same way.
